Riding Lessons, Training, Grooming, and Summer Camps

Our ranch offers riding lessons and summer camps as well as training. All very affordable. The services are listed below:

Riding Lessons are for any level and age of rider from children to adults.

--Basic riding is an introductory to western riding. This includes how to groom and tack a horse as well as correct positioning and cues at a walk, trot, and lope. Basic care of a horse is also covered.

--Speed Event is for beginner or advanced riders in events such as barrel racing, pole bending, flag racing, goat tying, and roping.

My lesson fees are $30 if you bring your own gentle horse, $35 if you use one of mine, $40 if you bring a problem horse to use in lessons. I am flexible and I want everyone who wants to take lessons to be able to. We'll work something out so you can. Just ask.

Training

I offer basic riding and barrel/pole training (start to finish) for horses, starting cattle work/roping, starting mounted shooting, and some colt starting and problem horses depending on the situation. I can also work with youngsters (weanling, yearlings) to halter break and gentle them. If you have a horse that just needs wet saddle blankets or a refresher course, I can help with that too. I have over 10 years of experience in training horses. I use traditional and natural horsemanship training techniques. I keep up to date on new ideas and techniques through clinics, programs, and publications. I believe in teaching a horse to be a willing partner, not using pain or fear to teach. I do lots of ground work and get the foundation right before riding them and when I ride them, I take it at the pace that they are able to learn. I never force them to do something they aren't ready for. I will discipline them if they need it but only so they understand and never in a way that is detrimental to the learning process.

Pricing varies according to each situation and training goals but fees range from $112.50 to $150 per week which includes feed/board and one free lesson for the owner at the end of the training period.

DOG TRAINING / GROOMING:
